Sam's Bachelor Recap: Feb 17

Nothing like catching the drama on the big screen…

I am housesitting this week and they have a projector.. I am not good at measurements, all I know is this thing takes up the whole wall.. I literally felt like I was there on the dates.

This week we are in Miami, Juan Pablo’s hometown (which I would not mind to be in after all this snow!).

He personally delivered the first envelope for the one-on-one date to Sharleen. As we saw last week she was having doubts and didn’t know if she could see herself introducing Juan Pablo to her family. The date was crucial for her to decide if there was something there. Not really sure how she made up her mind as all they ever do is kiss.

Nikki got the second one-on-one, and got to go to Camilla’s dance recital (Juan Pablo’s daughter). She then got to meet his family, as well as his ex, Camilla’s mom. I personally found it really awkward, but they are really good friends still, however she kind of stood there not knowing what to do on camera. The date ended with dinner in Marlin’s Park, again just your typical date..

Sharleen came down dressed up and informed the girls she wasn’t sure about her feelings. She then went to Juan Pablo’s room and told him she was leaving. She said she cared for him but didn’t see a forever with him. Classy move on her part, she didn’t want to take away a girl’s spot that deserved it. (And she would have, Juan was sure that he was going to give her a rose.)

The group date was Renee, Claire, Andi, and Chelsie. Andi got the rose, which guaranteed her to bring Juan Pablo home to meet her family.

And of course not an episode could go by without a catfight. Claire and Nikki went at it after Claire tried to come to make sure she didn’t say anything to offend Nikki. Nikki retaliated saying, “I don’t like you, we will never be friends…”

Nikki continued to make comments the rest of the episode about Claire being crazy, and ended up making herself look really immature. She sat like a mannequin during the cocktail party, and they showed a solid minute or so with Claire and Nikki just sitting next to each other in silence..

Chelsie was sent home in a very emotional goodbye..

Next week is a two night event, Monday being hometown dates and Tuesday being the fantasy suite, which the previews show both taking a turn for the worse.. I can hardly wait!!

Here are your final four.. I am still pulling for Renee, or better yet for her to be the next Bachelorette!

On a Finally Friday with the weekend filled with food, football, ground hogs and as always a lovely chat with Nashville Kat!  I for one was ready for the week to be over!  A pleasant surprise that  we did have though was meeting the latest addition to the show... Bill The Packer Fan!

Bill will be joining the show each week on Fridays and can't wait to hear what he'll be bringing to the show!  Don't forget to check out Sam's Idol recap!

Thursday, January 30, 2014

A very mild start to the day... In comparison to what we've been experiencing anyway!  The coolest thing about today I think is the fact that it is Thursday and that of course is connected to Friday and we all love the arrival of the weekend!

Chatted a bit about the ACM's nod that were announced yesterday.... I think Kacey is going to clean up at these!  Eddie's got a posting and his predictions on his page and in his blog!  Diamond Rio ticket winning with more of that with Eddie as well!

Have a Great Day and thanks for your time!

Carne Asada Beef Tacos

As you'll see in the video I don't always follow the recipe and I encourage you to do the same...  Consider a recipe more of a guideline than the rule!

I also did forget to drizzle the tomatillo sauce over the tacos in the video but did do it after...

Hope you enjoy!

1 1/2 pounds boneless beef top sirloin, cut into thin bite-size slices

Directions
  1. Place sliced meat into a shallow bowl, and season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper. Squeeze the lime juice over the meat, and turn until evenly coated. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine tomatillo and jalapeno. Puree for 15 to 20 seconds, or until thick. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Carefully pour in tomatillo mixture. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Stir in beef broth. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until mixture coats a spoon. Transfer mixture to a serving dish.
  3. Heat tablespoon oil in a large skillet over high heat. Stir in 1/3 of the beef, and saute for 1 minute. Transfer to serving dish. Repeat with remaining beef. Meanwhile, heat tortillas in the oven or microwave, according to package instructions.
  4. To serve, place two tortillas on top of each other. Add desired amount of meat, spoon over some tomatillo mixture. Top with guac, pico, cilantro and Garnish with a wedge of lime, to be squeezed over taco before eating.

Wednesday Jan 29

It's always nice knowing you are on the downward side of the week and indeed we are!  Had some fun with Alyssa from Appleton this morning... She had to guess which tooth paste I made up!  See Crest came out with some new flavors and I came up with my own to throw her off... It did not... She picked it out and WON tickets to see Diamond Rio next month!  Enjoy the show girl and thank you so much hanging out this morning on your way to work!

More ticket winning later today with Eddie and tomorrow morning again on my show!

Have A Great Day and we'll chat soon!
